1954's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is by far the most popular film adaptation of Jules Verne's vision of the complex Captain Nemo and his dream of using science to fight the world's ills. Produced by Walt Disney and directed by Richard Fleischer, the film follows the gripping journey of Nemo, portrayed with an outstanding performance by James Mason, aboard his futuristic submarine, the Nautilus. Supported by a fine cast including Kirk Douglas as Ned Land, Paul Lukas as Professor Aronnax, and Peter Lorre as Conseil, the characters embark on an epic voyage through mysterious underwater landscapes. Along the way, they confront giant sea creatures and grapple with moral dilemmas that challenge their perceptions of science and power. The film's groundbreaking special effects and Academy Award-winning art direction contribute to its enduring appeal and its status as a landmark in science fiction cinema. Presented here for only the second time in our history is this excellent original Japanese B2 for the film. A few imperfections remain, including slight edge wear, light fold wear, minor fold separation, and several small tears along the borders. Additionally, there are a few small strips of cellophane tape on the verso. Please note that although originally flat folded, this poster will be shipped rolled.
