Description

Don't Bother to Knock (FIDA, R-1962). Folded, Very Fine-. Italian 4 - Fogli (53.75" X 77.25") Angelo Cesselon Artwork.
A first time offering from Heritage, this large format Italian 4 - fogli is an especially excellent canvas for Angelo Cesselon's artwork of one of cinema's most beloved figures, Marilyn Monroe. Vividly rendered, Cesselon captures Monroe in a strikingly glamorous light, emphasizing her allure while foreshadowing Don't Bother to Knock's psychological intensity. Directed by Roy Ward Baker and co-starring Richard Widmark and Anne Bancroft, the film is a taut noir thriller that explores vulnerability, obsession, and instability through Monroe's haunting performance as troubled babysitter Nell Forbes. Restoration has been primarily concentrated to the folds to address fold wear, creases, fold/crossfold separation, tears and splits, and slight chips/chipping. It now presents quite well.
