Description

All Quiet on the Western Front (Universal, 1930). Very Fine-. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
The first film to win Academy Awards for both Outstanding Production (the precursor to Best Picture) and Best Director, All Quiet on the Western Front is a powerful anti-war epic that still resonates today. Stars Louis Wolheim, Lew Ayers, John Wray, Arnold Lucy, and Ben Alexander bring to vivid life the story originally written in the novel of the same name by author Erich Maria Remarque. The film is directed by highly-acclaimed director Lewis Milestone, and many of Milestone's memorable scenes can be seen on the set of lobby cards offered here. This is only the second time a full set of original-release lobby cards for this film has been offered at Heritage. The title card has been restored, with touchup applied to the front and verso to address small tears, creases, corner bends, scuffs, scratches, pinholes, and a re-attached corner chip. The borders of the title card have also been airbrushed. The scene cards are in nice condition and display pinholes, minute chips, minor scuffs and scratches, and faint smudges. Five of the scene cards have airbrushing in the borders, and two of the scene cards have light stains. A few of the cards have very thin slivers of paper loss in the border.
