Description

Mrs. Miniver (MGM, 1942). Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style C.
A genuine portrayal of life for a British family during the early part of WWII, Mrs. Miniver stars Greer Garson, Walter Pidgeon, Teresa Wright, and Richard Ney. William Wyler's masterpiece was the winner of Academy Awards for Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actress (Garson), and Supporting Actress (Wright). This picture has become a beloved classic for many fans, and its rare posters are highly sought after. The Style C one sheet, with its lovely portrait of the stars, is an opportunity not to be missed as it is only the second ever offered at Heritage. Benefitting from professional restoration, this one sheet no longer shows fold separations, pinholes, tears into the interior, and a small chip in the upper crossfold. There was some paper loss in the borders, as well as a reattached section of paper loss starting from the "G" in "Garson" extending to the left side of the upper horizontal fold. The borders and parts of the background have been airbrushed, and there are a couple of minor post-restoration paper lifts in the lower credits. However, the quality of conservation found on this poster makes a a prime display piece desirable for many classic collectors.
