Description

Bikini Beach Lot (American International, 1964). Half Sheets (2) (22" X 28"). American International's roots were in cheap sci-fi and teenage gang films. By the early '60s, the sci-fi rolled on, but the teen angst of the '50s had changed to the non-threatening antics of Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. This lot, which also includes Muscle Beach Party (1964), combines two of the best of the Beach series. Muscle Beach has surface abrasions on the top left corner, and a crease and stain in the top right. A copy of producer Samuel Z. Arkoff's autobiography Flying Through Hollywood by the Seat of My Pants as well as a COA from Lou Arkoff will be included with this auction lot. From the personal collection of Samuel Z. Arkoff.
