The Fountainhead (Warner Brothers, 1949). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
Ayn Rand's classic novel was very loosely based on Frank Lloyd Wright, one of America's greatest architects. Gary Cooper portrays Howard Roark, an architect who refuses to compromise on his designs and ideals; even if it means taking menial jobs vs. huge contracts. When he discovers his plans are being altered without his permission, he takes matters into his own hands. The film was a powerhouse performance for Cooper and Patricia Neal-- who played the love interest, and the poster remain popular with collectors. All of the borders and the white area around the credits have been airbrushed. The poster was folded at one time and there has been color touch-up along those fold lines. Fine/Very Fine on Paper.
