Invaders from Mars (20th Century Fox, 1953). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
One of the most "complete" 1950s sci-fi films that benefited by a seasoned and highly creative team, and a terrific original concept. Through the whole film we see an adult world in chaos and crisis through the eyes of a child. The amazing overall "look" of the film, that still holds up today, and is ably supported by the highly collected posters on this title, was no fluke. The cinematography was by seven time Oscar nominee, John Seitz (Sunset Boulevard, Valentino's Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, etc). The direction was a plus also, coming from William Cameron Menzies (Gone With the Wind), an Oscar winning production designer/ art director/ producer/ director. This great half sheet has some of the best aliens ever and no fewer than five scenes from the film along the bottom. Professionally backed on paper, there were small chips and tears in the borders and just into the image. From the Collection of Wade Williams. Very Good/Fine on Paper.
