World War I Propaganda (National War Savings Committee, 1910s). Rolled, Fine/Very Fine. "Double Savings" British Poster (19.75" X 29.5"). War.
In its efforts to raise money, the British government realized that even small sums would be vital if it could attract enough of them. In April 1916 national war savings committees were set up for England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland. They promoted the formation of local associations, which took responsibility for encouraging savings activities in their community. It appointed a committee to consider war finance in relation to small investors. An unrestored country of origin poster that displays signs of use. May include slight edge wear, creases, tears, or faint stains including tape stain bleedthrough. The poster has two pieces of masking tape on the verso.
