Hoyt's A Midnight Bell (Enquirer Job Printing, c. 1890s). Rolled, Overall: Fine+. Theatrical Posters (2) (21.25" X 29" & 19.75" X 27.5"). Comedy.
Offered in this lot are two brilliant stone litho posters advertising the comedic Charles H. Hoyt play, A Midnight Bell. Each item features a different scene of American life, one featuring an upstanding citizen seemingly breaking up a fight between local children, it's caption reading "you're another," while the other displays a man solitarily drinking in a bell tower, its caption cheekily explaining that he's "thawing out the bell?" Unrestored posters with good color and overall very presentable appearances. They may have slight edge and corner wear, moderate creases and handling wear, small border chips and tears, unobtrusive smudges or scuffs, minute printing irregularities, a minor tear along the top border and a significant tear along the bottom border that reaches halfway into the interior image of the "you're another," poster, or a significant tear along the left border of the "thawing out the bell?" poster that reaches almost all the way through the interior image. There are several strips of masking and paper tape on the versos bracing the tears.
