Directed by Victor Fleming and starring Gary Cooper in what is arguably his breakout role, The Virginian tells a tale of friendship, loyalty, and love within the harsh environment of the Wild West. Showcasing a romantic embrace in the upper image and an armed standoff beneath the title, this one sheet, which is the rare Style B version issued to theaters that had not yet been wired for sound and the rise of talkies, creatively juxtaposes the film's themes of tenderness and violence. Minimal touchup has beautifully restored this piece, correcting fold wear, small chips, minute fold and crossfold separation, and a few tears. Property from a Distinguished Collection.
