Jesse James (20th Century Fox, 1939). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. British Door Panel (20" X 59.75").
The classic film directed by Henry King follows the transformation of Jesse and Frank James from Missouri farm boys into infamous outlaws after a ruthless railroad company causes their mother's death. Seeking revenge and justice, the brothers embark on a crime spree, robbing trains and banks while gaining a folk-hero reputation. We all know the real story, but this fictionalized movie was a major box-office success, and led to the sequel Return of Frank James (offered elsewhere in this auction) the following year. Backed to linen, touch-up has addressed fold wear and small splits to the upper area. Additionally, there are small or minute chips in the borders, and the credits area at bottom has lightly ghosted to the upper area. The poster presents very nicely and sure would look good paired with Frank James on your wall!
