Description

Casablanca (Warner Bros., R-1940s). Very Fine on Linen. Swedish One Sheet (27" X 39"). Gosta Aberg Artwork.
Though Casablanca is now revered as a timeless classic, it was originally considered just another wartime romance by Warner Bros., adapted from an unproduced play called Everybody Comes to Rick's. Filming took place almost entirely on the studio lot, and it had a modest budget of just $878,000.00, yet became one of the most iconic films in Hollywood history. Backed to linen, touchup has addressed three 1-inch to 2.5-inch splits at the top edge; there has been a few small or minute touchups above Henreid's credit and a small spot below Bogart's as well as a few in the area above Bergman. The remainder of the poster has been untouched and only shows some pinholes in the corners. Thanks to these efforts, the poster presents beautifully and will please any advanced collector.
