Description
Las Tres Alegres Comadres (Mier Y Brooks, 1952). Mexican One Sheet (27" X 36.5") Ernesto Garcia "El Chango" Cabral Artwork..
Utilizing a dynamic comic style, famed Mexican Cartoonist and painter Ernesto Garcia "El Chango" Cabral's artistic skills are on full display with this Mexican one sheet. Though not well known outside of Mexico, Cabal was one of the country's premiere illustrators upon his return from Paris in 1918. He would become one of Mexico's most well known political cartoonists, providing caricatures for periodicals such as Today and Revista de Revistas. Cabral's comic style would make its way to movie posters, and is on full display on this rare Mexican one sheet. Starring Amalia Aguilar, Lilia Prado and Lilia del Valle, this comedy/musical centers on three poor young women struggling to break into the entertainment business in Mexico City. Making its Heritage debut, this country of origin one sheet boasts bright, well saturated colors. Restoration has addressed minor imperfections: a chip and tear in the top left corner and chips in the right border. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
