A sensational film with enduring appeal, Stagecoach not only redefined the Western as a serious cinematic genre, but made an overnight superstar of John Wayne, who had previously toiled in "B" pictures for studios such as Republic and Monogram. As the Ringo Kid, Wayne is instrumental in getting a group of travelers safely to their destination, revealing hidden truths about each of them along the way. Less a standard Western than an insightful character piece, the film also marks the beginning of director John Ford's love affair with Monument Valley, a location that would figure prominently in a number of his later films. Offered here is a gorgeous Japanese B2 poster from the 1978 re-release of this classic film. There are faint pinholes at the top and bottom borders.
