Featuring the most iconic Western image of the 1970s, Heritage has only infrequently offered this larger-format transit one sheet (half the size of a "subway" poster) advertising showings at Flagship theaters in New York City. This specificity makes the piece both artwork and a concrete artifact of the era of its release. The film announced Clint Eastwood as a major director - no less a luminary than Orson Welles praised him as one of America's finest directors after seeing it. The story brutally personifies the rift in America following the Civil War, as Eastwood's Wales evades authorities after avenging the murder of his family by pro-union forces during the conflict. Folded as issued, the poster exhibits minor wear along the edges and is otherwise in excellent condition.
