Renowned illustrator Roger Kastel created the iconic Style A poster for The Empire Strikes Back, often referred to as the "Gone with the Wind" style due to its reimaging of Howard Terpning's famous reissue artwork, which depicts Han Solo and Princess Leia in a passionate embrace beneath the ominous presence of Darth Vader. With its dynamic composition and rich, atmospheric color palette, the artwork perfectly captures the film's epic scale, securing its place as one of the most memorable movie posters of all time. Also celebrated for his legendary Jaws poster, Kastel played a pivotal role in defining the visual language of the blockbuster era, and his work on Empire is a shining example. Just a few minor flaws are present, including minute edge wear, small corner bends, primarily light creases/handling wear, and small, subtle graphite markings at the bottom right corner.
