As revealed in The Star Wars Poster Book, the legendary Hildebrandt brothers had just 48 hours-yes, two days-to bring one of the most iconic Star Wars posters to life! Faced with the intense deadline, they pulled off a creative marathon, working in nonstop shifts, trading off day and night to keep the paint flowing around the clock. In a whirlwind of color and imagination, they completed the stunning artwork right in the studio, placing C-3PO and R2-D2 proudly beside Luke and Leia. The result? A dazzling British quad poster that hit London theaters in November 1977-only to be replaced by Thomas Chantrell's version on New Year's Eve. A brief moment on display, but an eternal place in Star Wars history. Poster shows minor edge and fold wear consistent with age, along with light handling marks, subtle creasing, and a small separation at the crossfold-typical for a vintage piece of this era.
