Broken Blossoms (United Artists, 1919). Fine/ Very Fine. Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Richard Barthelmess plays Cheng Huan, a former Chinese missionary who now runs a curio shop in London. A lonely waif (Lillian Gish) collapses at his door after being beaten by her father (Donald Crisp), a prizefighter. Caring for the girl restores some of his faith, and his love for her is the theme of this beautiful and classic D.W. Griffith film. In remarkable shape for a 106 year-old lobby card, the only signs of handling are a neat 0.75" tear at left margin (stabilized on verso with archival tissue tape), a relatively light vertical crease from top to bottom through right edge of background, soft surface scuffs, and a tiny chip out of lower right corner. An extraordinarily rare first-time offer for Heritage.
