Charlie Chaplin in Cruel, Cruel Love (Independent, R-1910s). Folded, Fine-. Stock One Sheet (27" X 42").
Charlie Chaplin's popularity exploded during his meteoric rise to stardom with his Keystone shorts in the early 1910s, and his films were rampantly reissued by theatres around the U.S. throughout the rest of the 1910s and into the 1920s. Distributors then began producing stock one sheets for these Chaplin reissues featuring a standard design of Chaplin holding a cigarette while leaning against a post, with the title of whichever film placed in the title area. This stock one sheet is for Chaplin's 1914 short Cruel, Cruel Love, his ninth film with Keystone Studios and the first item offered by Heritage for this title. The unrestored poster has slight edge and fold wear, minor fold separations, small chips, some tears, and faint tape stain bleedthrough. Most of the folds are braced with strips of paper tape on the verso, and a 14-inch tear below the upper right red border is braced with a strip of cloth tape on the verso. It was previously folded but will ship rolled.
