Description

The Brood (Alpha Films, 1979). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. British Double Crown Set of 4 (20" X 29.75").
Rendered with unsettling precision by director David Cronenberg, The Brood is a chilling meditation on the physical manifestations of psychological trauma. Balancing clinical detachment with visceral horror, the film probes the intersection of science, grief, and suppressed rage in ways both cerebral and grotesque. The story follows troubled father Frank Carveth (Art Hindle) as he uncovers a terrifying connection between a string of brutal murders and the radical psychotherapy undergone by his estranged wife, Nola (Samantha Eggar), under the supervision of the unflinching Dr. Raglan (Oliver Reed). The killers - mysterious, childlike figures - emerge as horrific extensions of Nola's emotional torment. While Heritage has previously offered one of these rare double crowns, this marks the first time we've had the privilege of presenting a complete set. Each poster features a central character - Frank, Nola, Dr. Raglan, and the couple's daughter Candice (Cindy Hinds) - each rendered in striking black, white, and orange tones that echo the film's bleak and unnerving aesthetic. Showing some signs of use, the posters contain edge, corner, and fold wear, breached pinholes, creases and handling wear, light smudges, minor fold separation and border tears, some surface rippling, and a chip at the upper right corner of the Dr. Raglan style poster.
