Following the success of earlier Gold Diggers films, Gold Diggers of 1935 is a Busby Berkeley-directed musical known for its extravagant choreography and striking visual style. The film follows a group of performers caught in romantic and financial entanglements at a luxurious summer resort, with standout performances from Dick Powell and Gloria Stuart. Its most famous sequence, "Lullaby of Broadway", won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and remains one of Berkeley's most celebrated musical numbers. This window card, which has never been offered at Heritage Auctions before, perfectly encapsulates the film's spectacle. The card has been rebacked on cardstock and exhibits extensive airbrushing and touchup. The restoration continues throughout, with a number of creases and tears.
