Description
The Love Pirate (UFA, 1925). Folded, Fine+. German Poster (37.25" X 55.5") Julius Kupfer-Sachs Artwork.Based off of Wilhelm Hegeler's swashbuckling adventure novel, Pietro the Corsair and the Jewess Cheirinca, this high seas adventure features German actor Paul Richter as the title character, a farm boy who longs for a life of excitement out on the ocean. He costars with his then-wife Aud Egede Nissen, playing a Spanish temptress, under the direction of German-American auteur Arthur Robison. A first time offering at Heritage and hailing from its country of origin, this gorgeous stone litho poster shows signs of usage, including edge and fold wear, mild fold separations, creases, misfolds, and pinholes. There are small tears, a few paper lifts, slight chipping in the borders and folds, as well as some stains into the interior. The poster has a small spot of paint in the right background. There is an ink stamp in the left border with some penned writing dated February 11, 1925, only eight days before the premiere in Berlin. Folded, Fine+.
