The Bride of Frankenstein (Universal, 1935). Very Fine-. Glass Slide (3.25" X 4").
James Whale returned to direct this classic of horror cinema after his success on Frankenstein, but insisted on creative control, resulting in a more stylized, darkly humorous tone with Colin Clive and Boris Karloff reprising their historic roles. Seen by many as a burlesque of the genre, it is revered by fans. The film was nearly banned in several countries due to religious imagery and themes considered blasphemous at the time. This rare slide has a couple of barely perceptible scratches to the paint and is otherwise beautiful. The holder has a few small stains, and small bumps. Heritage has sold this same example in 2007, and in the 18 years since, we have not seen another.
