Description

Yellow Submarine (United Artists, 1968). Rolled, Very Fine-. One Sheet (27" X 41") Heinz Edelmann Artwork.
Yellow Submarine is a visually stunning and groundbreaking animated musical adventure inspired by the music of none other than The Beatles. Directed by George Dunning and designed by visionary artist Heinz Edelmann, the film follows John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they journey aboard the titular yellow submarine to free the idyllic Pepperland from the music-hating Blue Meanies. Initially reluctant after their dissatisfaction with Help!, The Beatles fulfilled their contractual third film for United Artists, with voice actors portraying their animated counterparts, though they did make a live-action cameo in the film's final scene. Yellow Submarine's dazzling psychedelic animation, surrealist imagery, and whimsical humor captured the spirit of the 1960s counterculture and featured beloved hits such as "Eleanor Rigby," "All You Need Is Love," and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," promoting a celebration of peace, love, and music. Praised as a masterpiece of 1960s animation, Yellow Submarine continues to enchant audiences with its inventive visuals and enduring charm. In great condition, this remarkable one sheet which appears to have never been folded - an extreme rarity for the time - contains only a few flaws, including minute edge wear, minor corner bends, subtle creases and horizontal divots, and light toning.
