With its charming illustration of the Scarecrow (popular silent film comedian Larry Semon, who also directs this film) this extremely rare (possibly even unique) title card from the first feature-length adaptation of L. Frank Baum's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an absolute boon for fans of this heartwarming tale. Original materials of any sort or size for this film adaptation are almost non-existent in the poster collecting community! Oliver Hardy co-stars as the Tin Man, with Dorothy Dwan as Dorothy and Charlie Murray as the Wizard. Previously folded (as were hundreds of surviving silent-era lobby cards to be upcycled as theater-musicians' sheet music folders) this lovely card has been paper-backed, with commensurate border airbrushing and other fairly minor retouching to accomplish a fresh, relatively flawless appearance.
