Description

Whoopee Party (United Artists, 1932). Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 41").
This delightful one sheet for Walt Disney's The Whoopee Party bursts with vibrant color and joyful energy, perfectly reflecting the spirit of one of Mickey Mouse's early animated adventures. Released in 1932 through United Artists - the studio Disney turned to after leaving Columbia earlier that year for greater financial support - this short marked a pivotal moment in the studio's history. While Columbia posters were limited to two colors, United Artists embraced the vibrant stone lithograph process, resulting in far more visually striking and collectible designs. This exceptionally rare poster, created for the third Mickey Mouse short under United Artists, showcases both Mickey and Minnie in a lively musical scene, making it not only a wonderful artifact of Disney's early artistry but also one of the most desirable pieces from the Golden Age of animation. It is remarkably well-preserved with just a small amount of restoration that has addressed fold wear, fold separation, creases, and small tears/splits. A few flaws remain unobtrusively visible and the linen has been trimmed to and very close to the borders.
