1976's King Kong is a remake of the 1933 classic, directed by John Guillermin and starring Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange, and Charles Grodin. This version modernizes the story, replacing the original's 1930s setting with a contemporary oil expedition that discovers Kong on Skull Island, leading to his tragic capture and eventual rampage in New York (atop the World Trade Center rather than the original Empire State Building). While praised for its ambitious special effects, including an animatronic Kong, the film received mixed reviews but remains a cult favorite for its blend of adventure, romance, and spectacle. This scarce Indian poster for the film offers as much Kong as can possibly be fit onto one poster, and has only light fold wear and tiny edge nicks.
