Description

The Third Man (London Film, R-Late 1950s). Fine on Linen. Full-Bleed French Poster (29.75" X 44.75") Bernard Lancy Artwork.
The Third Man, directed by Carol Reed and written by Graham Greene, is a masterful post-war noir set amid the bombed-out ruins of Vienna, where American writer Holly Martins (Joseph Cotton) unravels the mystery surrounding the death of his enigmatic friend, Harry Lime, played with unforgettable allure by Orson Welles. Shot on location before the city's post-war restoration, the film's stark visuals, haunting zither score, and dramatic use of shadow and tilted angles evoke a world steeped in moral ambiguity and black-market intrigue. This French poster captures the film's brooding atmosphere, depicting Lime's final descent into the shadowy tunnels beneath Vienna with striking simplicity. Widely regarded as one of the greatest films noir, The Third Man is a haunting tale of betrayal, survival, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. Touchup and moderately noticeable replacement has addressed edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases, some tears, chips, and missing bottom corners. Some flaws remain slightly visible.
