Greer Garson by Sidney L. Rushakoff (1950s). Very Fine. AutoFramed Original Portrait Painting (29.25" X 37.5").
Offered in this lot is a stunningly beautiful portrait of Greer Garson, painted by Sidney L. Rushakoff. A talented actress, Garson is among the most nominated women for the Best Actress Oscar, with seven Academy Award nominations, winning for her performance in the title role of Mrs. Miniver. She also ties with Bette Davis for the most consecutive nominations, from years 1941 through 1945. At the height of her popularity in the 1940s, she often portrayed strong women on the homefront, making her one of the biggest box office draws in America during World War II. This lovely portrait has been signed by Greer Garson herself on the verso, dated 1968 with the name of the theater it hung in. The painting shows only minor paint cracking and light scuffs. The frame has a few holes and light scuffing.
