Description
Krazy Kat in Wedding Bells (Columbia, 1933). One Sheet (27" X 41").Cartoonist George Herriman gave the world Krazy Kat, the lovestruck paramour of the brick-throwing Ignatz Mouse. A long-running comic strip, it's now considered to be one of the greatest examples of that art form. In 1925, animator Bill Nolan brought his vision of Krazy Kat to the screen, a version definitely not based on Herriman's creation. The design of Nolan's Kat would change even more throughout the early 1930s, eventually becoming the more Mickey Mouse-like character pictured here. Heritage has sold a handful of stock one sheets for Krazy Kat, but this is the first for the short Wedding Bells. An irresistible find for animation fans! All of the borders have been trimmed slightly (1/2" left and right, 1" top and bottom), and professional restoration has been applied to correct these signs of handling. Touchup was also applied to small paper loss along the folds, and a small hole in the bottom border. Fine+ on Linen.
