The Howling by Stan Watts (Avco Embassy, 1981). Very Fine-. Original Agency Produced Mixed Media Comp of Artwork on Illustration Board (20" X 25.5") used for One Sheet.
Heritage is proud to present a mechanical comp done from the original artwork, the first movie poster that artist Stan Watts illustrated. Among Watts' other poster artwork is the advance one sheet for Escape From New York. Dee Wallace, Patrick Macnee, and Dennis Dugan's performances gained the picture the 1981 Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. Professionally conserved, this wonderfully terrifying illustration had a puncture mark in the upper left background. This was mirrored in the tissue and paper covers with tears that have been mostly repaired. This was originally cataloged in error and from the artist we know that this is one of several comp illustrations done using his artwork to illustrate differing layouts. Very Fine-.
