Regarded as one of the greatest science fiction films ever made, Robert Wise's classic set the bar for all other entries in the genre. A former editor for Orson Welles, Wise brilliantly instilled within the film a political subtext that reflected the anxieties of post-WWII America. The film is notable as featuring the first major robot (Gort) to appear in the genre during the 1950's, and the only robot of any significance since Fritz Lang's Metropolis in 1927. He is prominently displayed here in this stunning one sheet. The poster has been expertly restored and is backed on linen. Touchups have been made to the folds and borders, along with a small vertical crease in the image of Gort. Overall a highly desirable piece for any dedicated sci-fi collector!
