Description

The African Queen (United Artists, 1952). Very Good/Fine on Linen. Three Sheet (40.75" X 77").
Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn, two legends of Hollywood's Golden Age, made only one film together, but The African Queen proved to be an unforgettable collaboration. Set during World War I, the film follows gruff mechanic Charlie Allnutt and prim missionary Rose Sayer, an original "odd couple," as they navigate a perilous African river and form an unlikely bond in their quest to strike back at the Germans. Directed by John Huston and celebrated for its vivid location shooting, sharp performances, and Bogart's Oscar-winning role, the film remains a cornerstone of classic cinema, beautifully captured in this striking three sheet, where Hepburn appears radiant in the arms of a rugged Bogart, a must-have for serious collectors. Restoration has addressed edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases, fold/crossfold separation, several tears, chips, stains, and a few areas of paper loss. Various restoration, flaws, and color fading remain visible. Additionally, the linen has been trimmed to the borders.
