Description

Ambition (Fox, 1916). One Sheet (28.25" X 42.25").
Born in 1874 in the Ukraine, Bertha Kalich had a solid entertainment career in Eastern Europe before heading to the stages of New York City. There, she became a hit during the "Golden Age" of American Yiddish Theatre during the late 19th and early 20th century. It's reported that Kalich performed over 125 different roles in seven different languages! Kalich moved to Hollywood in 1914 and landed a few notable film roles. In this picture, the actress plays the attractive wife of an ambitious, young district attorney (Kenneth Hunter). This pretty stone litho poster displays beautifully after touchup to the folds and restoration to missing paper in the left border and background, tears in the top and bottom border into the background, and pinholes in the top border. Very Good on Linen.
