Description

King Kong (RKO, 1933). French Grande (45.5" X 62.75") Coudon Style.
French artist Rene Coudon captured one of the greatest moments of sheer terror ever launched onto the movie screen; amidst the drum beats and chants of "Kong! Kong! Kong!," the gigantic ape crashes through the forests of Skull Island and takes the terrorized and screaming Fay Wray prisoner. Monster films had become quite popular in the early 1930s and this movie completely astonished audiences across the world with it's dazzling special effects as Kong fought several dinosaurs on Skull Island and then went on to climb the Empire State Building. All of this was achieved with stop-motion animation under the direction of Willis O'Brien. This poster is considered to be the best of the non-US posters created for this legendary and cinematic achievement and has always been popular among collectors. It was designed to be full bleed (no borders) and has very minor color touchup to the fold lines. Very Fine on Linen.
