Description
It Happened One Night (Columbia, 1934). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.A first time offer from Heritage, this incredibly rare half sheet is a glorious tribute to bright stars Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable. The duo makes movie magic with this flawless screwball comedy from beloved director Frank Capra. Spoiled socialite Colbert has a hard time running away from her father (Walter Connolly) since she has no idea how to manage money or how common people live. Ace reporter Gable is only too happy to show her the realities of life in exchange for a front page story. Each scene is classic: from the hitchhiking contest, the art of dunking doughnuts, the singing of "The Man on the Flying Trapeze," to the walls of Jericho. Both stars won Academy Awards for their performances, which perfectly blend romance, comedy, and witty dialogue. Paperbacking and touchup has addressed two inches of missing paper in the borders, and a cut through the center of the image. Good on Paper.
