Description
It Happened One Night (Columbia, 1934). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A.Half sheets for It Happened One Night are exceedingly rare, and this style A is the perfect homage to two screen legends, Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. The pair were cast in this story about a spoiled heiress, tired of her father's control, who rebels and runs away from both her father and her new husband. Gable stars as a hungry reporter, looking for a great story, who stumbles across the runaway heiress and accompanies her on her "road trip" back to New York. Along the way, the two have some adventures and fall in love. The film was a huge success for the fledgling Columbia Pictures, and was the first film to sweep the five major Oscars including Best Actor, Actress, Picture, Director, and Screenplay. This hard-to-find treasure has been paperbacked to address a cut through the center of the image, and 2" of missing paper at the borders into the image area. The careful restoration has the piece displaying remarkably! Good on Paper.
