Moody and dramatic, this avidly collected one sheet perfectly sets the tone for one the best crime dramas of the 1940s. Raymond Chandler's gritty crime novels adapted extremely well to the big screen and his screenplays became some of the best film noir pictures ever made, including Double Indemnity, The Blue Dahlia, The Big Sleep, and this Philip Marlowe classic based on Chandler's novel Farewell My Lovely. Dick Powell stars as the disillusioned detective who is hired by the thug Moose Malloy (Mike Mazurki) to find a missing girlfriend. Claire Trevor gives a stunning performance as the femme fatale, and the unraveling of the lies and mystery makes for a very entertaining plot. Otto Kruger and Anne Shirley co-star. The poster has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the corners and image area, fold wear, small tears in the left border, and cross fold separations. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
