Hello, Frisco, Hello by Gerasimos Steris (20th Century Fox, 1943). Fine/Very Fine. Original Poster Artwork on Illustration Board (6.25" X 18.25"). Musical.
Starring Alice Faye, John Payne, Jack Oakie, Lynn Bari, Laird Cregar, June Havoc, Ward Bond, and George Barbier. Directed by H. Bruce Humberstone. Offered in this lot is the original painting used as the upper right portion of the image on the one sheet for Hello, Frisco, Hello. The artwork was created by pioneering Greek modernist painter Gerasimos Steris, friend and colleague of Picasso, Derrain, and Beaudouin, who emigrated to the United States in the late 1930s, and worked as a poster artist and set designer for 20th Century Fox. An unrestored item that displays signs of use. It may include light edge wear, mild creases, small tears, faint stains or smudges, and pinholes.
