Description
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. (Columbia, 1964). German A1 (23.25" X 33"). A classic Cold War comedy, this is one of star Peter Sellers' finest, as he plays three entirely different roles: as Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, he witnesses first hand the mental breakdown suffered by Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden) which ignites a nuclear holocaust; as President Merkin Muffley, it's his job to tell the Soviet premiere that the bombers are on their way; and as the title character, the wheelchair-bound Dr. Strangelove, he comes up with a plan to save the human race. Deeply incisive, the film's cutting political message is as apt today as it was during the days of the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. This wonderful German poster pictures Hayden, Sellers, and the luscious Tracy Reed, and has a tear in the bottom left corner, and creasing in the bottom left corner and the lower borders, but is in all other respects in great condition. Folded, Very Fine+.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
