Gigantis the Fire Monster (Warner Brothers, 1959). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This second film in the Godzilla series sees our firey friend do battle with a giant turtle called Anguirus. There are two stories as to why the monster's name was changed from "Godzilla" to "Gigantis." The first is that Joseph E. Levine (producer of the first Godzilla film) refused to grant Warner Brothers permission to use the name "Godzilla." The second is that producer Paul Schreibman changed Godzilla's name to "Gigantis" to try to trick audiences into believing that they were seeing a new monster. This is a remarkable example from this important sci-fi classic. Excellent color and clean paper make this a real treasure. Light wrinkling at the creases. Very Fine/Near Mint
