The Sting (Universal, 1973). Poster (40" X 60").
Forming a partnership to take down Robert Shaw are two grifters, played by Paul Newman and Robert Redford, in this modern classic. Artist Charles Moll provided the colorful alternate style image on this large format poster, from the Best Picture Oscar winner. Prior to restoration there was a tear from the bottom of the poster to Redford's foot, a tear in the bottom border into the credits, a large chip at the top right, surface paper loss on the verso in the top section that does show on the front, horizontal creases, pinholes in the corners, a stain in the right border, and about 1" of missing paper in the top border. Touchup was carefully applied, rendering these signs of handling nearly imperceptible. Fine on Paper.
