Cameo Kirby (Fox, 1923). One Sheet (28" X 41.5").
Cameo Kirby was based on a play by Booth Tarkington and Harry Leon Wilson, and the story had been filmed in 1915 with Dustin Farnum, who had originated the role on Broadway in 1909. This movie is known as a first for several reasons. It stars the sensational John Gilbert, before his rise to stardom as Greta Garbo's co-star and lover, and this was the first time that director Jack Ford was billed as John Ford. It is also known as the motion picture debut of Jean Arthur, one of the big screen's best actresses of the 1930s through 1950s. This gorgeous stone litho one sheet has some water stains on the verso that are not perceptible from the front. It is slightly tan and wrinkled, and has a small amount of fold and edge wear, as well as a tiny bit of paper loss in the upper right horizontal fold. Folded, Fine+.
