Red Heels (Union Artistic Films, 1925). Fine on Linen. French Grande (47.5" X 62.5").
This Austrian silent film, directed by Michael Curtiz, features French actress Lili Damita in her first leading role. She portrays a Parisian stage dancer who marries a young British Bohemian, played by Eric Barclay. Their relationship quickly turns tumultuous, as tensions rise over her desire to continue performing. Damita's compelling performance caught the attention of Samuel Goldwyn, who subsequently invited her to Hollywood. A Heritage first, we are thrilled to offer this gorgeous original release French grande for the film. Airbrushing and touchup to the borders and folds has addressed edge and fold wear, creases, fold/crossfold separation, and some tears. Additionally, several chips primarily along the borders and paper loss at the bottom right corner have been further corrected by replacement. Some restoration and flaws remain visible.
