Description
The Outlaw (RKO, R-1950). Folded, Very Fine. British Quad (30" X 40").Showcasing a strikingly sultry image of Jane Russell, posters for this controversial Howard Hughes film remain highly sought after. Originally completed in 1941, the film faced immediate backlash from Hollywood censors, leading to a delayed and limited release in 1943 before being pulled from theaters nationwide. It wasn't until 1946 that it finally saw a general release through United Artists. This particular British poster is from the 1950 RKO reissue, marking yet another chapter in the film's remarkable history. Given the age of this poster, it is great condition, with flaws including light edge wear, some fold wear, pinholes, smudges and scuffs, and mostly small stains. Additionally, there are some graphite markings on the verso that have slightly bled through at various areas of the poster including the image of Jane Russell's left arm and knees, as well as within the far left black background/lower credits area beneath the title treatment.
