Gorilla Gang by Renato Casaro (Variety Film, 1968). Very Fine+. Signed Original Italian Gouache Painting on Illustration Board (14" X 19.5").
Eerily atmospheric, this fantastic piece by Italian artist Renato Casaro comes from the one of many German films inspired by the literary works of Edgar Wallace. Alfred Vohrer was among the most prolific directors of these films, and this particular picture is a remake of Vohrer's first Edgar Wallace film, The Dead Eyes of London. Both beautiful and morbid, this piece was created as artwork for the Italian 2 - fogli poster and has been signed by the artist. It has some wear in the borders from the artistic process like pinholes, paper lifts, and a few stains. None of these issues affect the vibrant image, which shows practically no flaws.
