Description

Eraserhead (Filmex, 1977). Fine/Very Fine. World Premier Exposition Mini Poster (8.5" X 11") & Photos (4) (6.5" X 9.5" - 8" X 10").
Before he found a measure of mainstream success with films like The Elephant Man, Dune, Blue Velvet, and the TV sensation Twin Peaks, the film that first brought David Lynch to the attention of moviegoers everywhere was Eraserhead. A surreal, often caustic fever dream of a movie, Eraserhead posits an industrial nightmare scape where a disassociated man (Jack Nance) agrees to marry his pregnant girlfriend, only to have the baby turn out to be a squealing reptilian mutoid. Eraserhead made its debut at midnight on March 19th, 1977 at the Los Angeles International Film Exposition, and this exclusive expo poster advertises the debut of the uncut version which was later lost by Lynch when the director recut the film in response to audience feedback. Also included in this lot are four black and white, double weight, glossy finish photos from the feature. The photograph of Jack Nance has been trimmed, and the photo of Charlotte Stewart contains an original snipe adhered to the verso. The verso of the remaining photos contain adhesive remnants and additionally contain corner wear, creases, and minor scuffs. The original Filmex poster is flawless.
