A striking piece to be sure, this incredible Italian 4 - fogli features magnificent art by Alfredo Capitani. Humphrey Bogart, a returning war veteran, discovers his fellow paratrooper has been murdered. He undertakes an impassioned search for his friend's killer and runs into the man's girlfriend, played by femme fatale, Lizabeth Scott, and then enters a world of mystery and intrigue, in one of the better film noirs of the period. The evocative art by Capitani perfectly captures the mood of the film. Prior to the excellent restoration, there was mild fold wear with separations, moderate tears, hole punches, and a couple of chips in the borders. The top border has been trimmed and replaced, and the borders of the upper panel have been airbrushed. There are a few unaddressed pinholes, however these are practically invisible on this stunning large format piece. Fine+ on Linen.
