Bride of the Monster (Filmmakers Releasing, 1956). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
From highly idiosyncratic director Ed Wood, Bride of the Monster features Bela Lugosi as Dr. Vornoff, a madman who attempts to create an army of atomic super soldiers and conquer the earth. As with all of Wood's productions, posters from this title are quite collectible, this especially so as it sadly marks Lugosi's final starring role. Also of special note to Wood collectors, peeking out just behind the title lurks the infamous octopus, a prop Wood may or may not have stolen from the Republic Studios backlot originally used in Wake of the Red Witch. This half sheet has edge wear in the upper border, pinholes in the borders and outer background, small tears in the upper and right borders, a dust shadow along the bottom border, and stains in the left and upper border. There are also scratches in Loretta King Haddler's leg and some faint ink stamp bleedthrough with red ink remnants apparent in the upper left and lower right border corners. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
