Description

Before I Hang (Columbia, 1940). One Sheet (27" X 41").
In an interesting twist on the Jekyll and Hyde formula, Boris Karloff's character turns from a convicted and condemned mercy-killer into a homicidal manic during the course of this early 40's horror flick. Karloff's performance is truly the spark of genius behind all of the Columbia mad doctor films, and is still enjoyable today. This poster has undergone partial restoration and has several pinholes throughout, fold wear with restored chips in the crossfolds and small tears, a misfold in the bottom left horizontal fold, a faint pencil mark in the upper left corner, and touchup in the folds. Tape stains are still visible in the folds and upper borers. There are mild chips in the lower left and upper right borders and a small hole in the "W" of "Beware." From the Collection of Lynn Naron. Fine+ on Linen.
